Calvary's Elect
Calvary's ELECT, the Young Adult Ministry of Greater Mt. Calvary Holy Church, cultivates a generation of young adults ages 18-35 to become influential Christian leaders. ELECT is committed to assisting its members in developing strong biblical values and maturing spiritually to create positive change in not only their lives, but in their home, careers, communities and church. We want to see young adults develop a close and intimate relationship with God, with self, and with others. Our mission is to help them become bold disciples, spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ to build the Kingdom of God. We seek to help them utilize their God-given gifts with excellence to answer their God-given call that will edify the body of Christ. We strive to develop good stewards that will be responsible for all God has given them, including finances and relationships. These young adults will have a heart for people, serving all humbly as Christ came to serve. As a result, THE ELECT, will be innovative, honorable, and spirit-lead leaders, effecting change in all areas of their lives

Today it was reported the Don Imus was fired by CBS for his offensive comments he made in reference to the Rutger's team. It goes without saying that the comments Imus made were hurtful and degrading. C. Vivian String (Rutgers coach) said,"These comments are indicative of greater ills in our culture. It is not just Mr. Imus, and we hope that this will be and serve as a catalyst for change. Let us continue to work hard together to make this world a better place." Do you believe this incident will serve as a catalyst for change or do we need to do more to minimize the amount of discriminating comments made in our country?
