Calvary's Elect
Calvary's ELECT, the Young Adult Ministry of Greater Mt. Calvary Holy Church, cultivates a generation of young adults ages 18-35 to become influential Christian leaders. ELECT is committed to assisting its members in developing strong biblical values and maturing spiritually to create positive change in not only their lives, but in their home, careers, communities and church. We want to see young adults develop a close and intimate relationship with God, with self, and with others. Our mission is to help them become bold disciples, spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ to build the Kingdom of God. We seek to help them utilize their God-given gifts with excellence to answer their God-given call that will edify the body of Christ. We strive to develop good stewards that will be responsible for all God has given them, including finances and relationships. These young adults will have a heart for people, serving all humbly as Christ came to serve. As a result, THE ELECT, will be innovative, honorable, and spirit-lead leaders, effecting change in all areas of their lives

Tonex' is Mad

Recently Tonex posted a video on YouTube proclaiming his frustrations with all his haters. During this video Tonex uses heavy profanity through out the footage without hesitation . As Christians how are we suppose to handle ourselves when we feel hurt, angry, misunderstood, and anything else negative. People can be extremely cruel at times and for no reason. We as Christians are subject to ridicule everyday because we take stand for Christ and choose to live according to the word of God and not to the worlds view or our own thinking. Even within the church, their are times when we are face with people who are constantly challenging us. So how are we suppose to deal with our hater's? Do we turn the other cheek like Jesus said or pull a Peter and get the cussin and cuttin ears off?

R Kelly #1

R Kelly has another number one debut on the Billboard 200 courtesy of his latest effort, Double Up. In spite of all his legal issues, Kelly is still able to sell albums, and make catchy R&B hits that appeal to a large audience. Do you think consumers are wrong for supporting Kelly or has morality taken a backseat to entertainment?
Paris in Jail

What are your thoughts about Paris Hilton going to jail? She released a statement saying, "Being in jail is by far the hardest thing I have ever done...during the past several days, I have had a lot of time to think and I believe that I am learning and growing from this experience."
Do you guys believe that she will do better or should we expect the same Paris we all know and love?

IMUS Comments

Today it was reported the Don Imus was fired by CBS for his offensive comments he made in reference to the Rutger's team. It goes without saying that the comments Imus made were hurtful and degrading. C. Vivian String (Rutgers coach) said,"These comments are indicative of greater ills in our culture. It is not just Mr. Imus, and we hope that this will be and serve as a catalyst for change. Let us continue to work hard together to make this world a better place." Do you believe this incident will serve as a catalyst for change or do we need to do more to minimize the amount of discriminating comments made in our country?
Saints "Doin It"?
As believers, we know we are not suppose to have sex outside of marriage. However, we know their are christians who are having premarital sex. As young adult, how do you continue to live a holy lifestyle and deal with your sexual urges? Do you feel frustrated and repressed because you have decided to not have sex? Maybe your in the other group of saints who have chosen to have sex and not think twice about it. Either way share your thoughts!
